  6. How quickly will my account be set up after I sign up?
    Accounts are processed within 5 minutes of completing our sign up form. Your welcome letter, instructions, username and password, temporary IP address and FTP access will be established within one hour, and you can start uploading your website then.

  7. What if I order a new web hosting account, but I don't hear from you. What should I do?
    If you do not receive an email from us within one hour of signing up, please contact sales. If possible, please include your confirmation number, domain name and contact information in your email.

    We have redundant OC3 45Mbit connectivity from Tier 1 providers UUnet.

  9. Is my Macintosh computer compatible with your hosting plan?
    Our web servers use standard FTP (file transfer protocol). Therefore, you can build your site on any Macintosh or PC and use FTP to upload your website files to the live web server. Alternatively, we also support publishing your website using FrontPage, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe GoLive and other site creation software.

  10. Do you provide technical support?
    Yes, we provide 24/7 technical support via email only. No phone support is available.

  11. What kind of backup power technology is installed?
    We have UPS battery backup, in addition to a diesel backup generator, which will keep your website up until normal power is restored.

  12. How does JNSWebHosting handle system backups?
    We create daily tape backups of our system with full backups weekly for disaster recovery purposes. We recycle the tapes and store them offsite with a monthly tape rotation.

  13. Can you recover my website data from your system backups?
    No. The purpose of our system backups is for disaster recovery in the event of a system failure. We do not provide copies of files lost or deleted as a result of customer error. We suggest that customers keep up-to-date backup copies of their website for this purpose.

  14. Do you allow adult websites?
    Yes, we allow adult websites, but there are certain limitations. For more information, please refer to our Usage Policy.

  15. What does JNSWebHosting consider policy violations?
    JNSWebHosting prohibits sites engaged in illegal activities, Internet abuse, systems abuse and certain forms of adult content. For additional details, please read our Usage Policy.

  16. What is your scripting usage policy?
    JNSWebHosting reserves the right to remove any executable file(s) or scripts, which we deem are harming the server environment and/or affecting other customers' website performance. JNSWebHosting is not liable for any system faults or unintentional deletes of CGI files due to mishaps, system failure or acts of God. Maintaining backup copies of website files, scripts, and associated files is the responsibility of the site owner. For more information, please refer to our Usage Policy.

  17. Is this enough disk space and bandwidth?
     The average web page is about 50 kilobytes (including images), so 100 MB is equivalent to over 2,000 web pages and 5 GB of transfer is equivalent to about 100,000 users visiting your web pages each month.

  18. How many email addresses do I get with my account?
    The number of email accounts vary with each plan.  Your email account will include forwarding, catch-all email address and one autoresponder.

    No, your log files and email messages do not count toward your total disk space.

  20. Do you support FrontPage? Does it cost extra?
    Yes, we support FrontPage 2002 extensions. FrontPage 2002 is backward compatible with older FrontPage versions. There is no cost for this service.

    Our systems support streaming media over HTTP (hypertext transfer protocol). By using HTTP streaming, you can stream media without paying any additional monthly hosting costs for licensing expensive streaming media servers, such as Real Audio servers.

    To transfer a domain name to JNSWebHosting, follow the instructions below:

    1. Enter the domain name you wish to transfer on the first page of our signup form.

    2. After placing your order, you will need to update your domain name's DNS (domain name server) information with your Domain Registrar. We provide detailed transfer instructions in our Control Panel.

    Yes, there is a $15 fee for domain transfer (some extension are higher).  However this does include the addition of 1 year extension.
